Ms. Nan Li Collins has 25 years’ experiences in both private and public sector across Asia, Africa, North America and Europe, with solid expertise in sustainable investment and promoting innovations in emerging and frontier markets.
She has served as Director of Sustainable Investments and Innovation at UNOPS from 2020 to 2023, leading a global team, based in Finland as the head of the mission.
Previously, she was the head of UNDP SDG Innovative Finance, based in Bangkok, UNDP’s Asia Pacific Center, focusing on Investing for SDGs in emerging and frontier markets. She led a global team to engage public and private investors and developed a range of SDG aligned funds, bonds and projects in multiple countries from 2015-2020. She helped to position UNDP as a pioneer in the UN on impact investing, SDG bonds and the innovative finance agenda.
Prior to that, she worked in the UNDP Executive Office in NY from 2013-2014, supporting the top leadership in strategic planning and the annual reporting to the Executive Board. Before New York, she worked in UNDP Africa from 2009-2013, overseeing a regional portfolio in Eastern and Southern Africa,and focusing on Public-Private Partnerships and capacity building.
Prior to joining UNDP, she spent 10 years in a few global institutions in China and the USA, covering investment strategy, Merger and Acquisition, business development and project management, including RR Donnelley, Bechtel, and the World Bank. She holds MBA from HKUST,and participated in Executive Leadership and Innovation program at IESE, and Finance Executive program at Tsinghua University.

She has served as the Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of UN's Sanitation and Hygiene Fund; as Director of Sustainable Investments at UNOPS, leading a global investment team with renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure portfolio; and was the head of UNDP SDG Innovative Finance, and led a global team to develope SDG aligned funds, bonds and projects in multiple countries. Before joining UN, she spent 10 years in a few multi-national corporations in China and the USA, covering investment strategy, Merger and Acquisition, and sustainability.
