The One Earth Summit (OES) will serve as a platform that calls to action, rewards sustainability progress, and showcases successful innovation implementation, ultimately achieving the following goals:

  • Sharing knowledge and exchanging perspectives on climate and nature solutions
  • Showcasing talent and cutting-edge technology focused on Asia and global emerging markets
  • Promoting 'investment for good' by connecting high-potential start-ups with the world's most prominent, purpose-driven investors
Who are the organisers?

This event is co-organised by the Institute of Sustainability and Technology (IST) and the GAEA (Giving to Amplify Earth Action) Initiative. Our supporting organisation is the Environment and Ecology Bureau (EEB) and our knowledge partner is the World Economic Forum.

Who are the speakers?

Our line-up of more than 30 global speakers showcases a dynamic range of leaders from various sectors, including government officials, academia, industry experts, and corporate leaders.

Who are the participants?

OES will convene a diverse audience of more than 300 leaders and changemakers, with the majority of invitees holding top or senior executive roles in global corporations, the financial sector, start-ups, philanthropies, media, civil society, and academia.

What can participants expect from One Earth Summit?

Participants can expect to build valuable relationships and engage with top-tier distinguished leaders and visionaries across the globe, engage in exclusive knowledge exchange and identify the latest technology to address climate change and biodiversity loss, address pressing social and environmental challenges through impact investing and advocating for public-private-philanthropic partnerships and issue a call to world corporates for net-zero roadmaps, capacity building, and commitment to innovative green technology.

Why Hong Kong?

The summit marks a pivotal global gathering for sustainability leaders to forge a path towards net zero, especially for the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions. Complementing the core sessions of the One Earth Summit, our side events are designed to provide immersive and enlightening experiences unique to Hong Kong, creating friendly and confidential settings for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and corporate matchmaking. The key highlights from our event include the VIP Luncheon and Charity Gala Dinner, as well as a series of mega events that will take place alongside Wealth for Good Hong Kong and Art Basel during the Financial Mega Event Week hosted by the HongKong Government.

What makes this summit different to the others?

This event aims to drive more capital into the impact investing space to empower all the innovations needed to transition to a more sustainable future. Our mission is to connect innovations from around the world to private, public and philanthropic investors and to introduce expansion opportunities for corporates.

How can the impact be extended after the summit?

OES is not meant to be a one-off event but aims to create sustainable impact throughout the year via:

  • One Earth Alliance (OEA), a community of impact investors with the right knowledge and skillset, and investment opportunities
  • One Earth Innovation Challenge, in collaboration with top universities including Stanford, Tsinghua, MIT, Yale, Columbia, Oxford, Cambridge, HKUST, etc. to nurture green tech innovations through our ecosystem and global network (Temasek and large corporations)
  • One Earth Mission, allowing corporate leaders to pledge net-zero targets, provide progress tracking reports on an annual basis (we've committed to hosting OES for six consecutive years counting towards 2030), and share best practices
